Rumus, Contoh, dan Latihan Soal Simple Future Tense

Definisi

Simple Future Tense merupakan aturan pembentukan kalimat yang digunakan untuk menyatakan bahwa suatu kejadian atau kegiatan akan terjadi pada suatu waktu di masa depan.

Fungsi

Simple Future Tense memiliki fungsi

  • Untuk menyatakan sesuatu yang akan terjadi di masa yang akan datang
    – Someday, I will come to my grandma’s house.
  • Untuk menyatakan sesuatu yang sudah kita putuskan/pikirkan untuk dilakukan
    – I am going to cinema on Saturday.
  • Kata keterangan yang biasa digunakan adalah: tomorrow, next week, next month, next year, two weeks later, etc.

Rumus

Harus diingat bahwa bentuk infinitif dari ‘am, are, is’ pada kalimat nominal adalah ‘be’.
Berikut ini merupakan rumus atau pola kalimat dari simple present tense.

Simple Future Positif

will / shall

Subject + will / shall +      verb1 + complement

Subject : I, you, we, they, she, he, it
will → digunakan untuk I, you, we, they, she, he, it
shall → digunakan untuk I dan We
Untuk kalimat nominal, setelah will/shall diikuti be + complement

Contoh:

  • I will go to Jakarta.
  • She will go to Jakarta.
  • We shall go to Jakarta.
  • I shall be late tomorrow.

be going to

Subject + am / are / is + going to + infinitive (verb 1)

Subject : I, you, we, they, she, he, it
am → digunakan untuk subject I
are → digunakan untuk subject you, we, they
is → digunakan untuk subject she, he, it

Contoh:

  • He is going to watch movie tomorrow.
  • We are going to watch movie tomorrow.

Rumus dan contoh adalah simple future tense bentuk positif, selain itu simple future tense bisa berbentuk:

  • negatif (menggunakan not)
  • interogatif (kalimat tanya)

Simple Future Negatif

Ciri utama dari bentuk kalimat ini adalah adanya not yang terletak diantara will/shall dan infinitive (verb1)

will / shall

Subject + will  + not +      verb1 + complement

Subject : I, you, we, they, she, he, it
will → digunakan untuk I, you, we, they, she, he, it
shall → digunakan untuk I dan We
Untuk kalimat nominal, setelah will not diikuti be + complement

Contoh:

  • I won’t come to your house.
  • She won’t come to your house.
  • we won’t be late.

be going to

Subject + am / are / is  + not + going to + infinitive (verb 1)

Subject : I, you, we, they, she, he, it
am → digunakan untuk subject I
are → digunakan untuk subject you, we, they
is → digunakan untuk subject she, he, it

Contoh:

  • He isn’t going to watch movie tomorrow.
  • We aren’t going to watch movie tomorrow.

Simple Future Interogatif

Ada dua macam bentuk pertanyaan, yaitu

  • Yes/No question
  • W/H question

Berikut ini merupakan masing-masing penjelasannya.

Yes/No Question

will / shall

Untuk pertanyaan dengan jawaban ya/tidak, cukup letakkan will/shall diikuti subject dan verb 1 di awal kalimat.

Will / Shall + Subject +      verb1 + complement

Subject : I, you, we, they, she, he, it
will → digunakan untuk I, you, we, they, she, he, it
shall → digunakan untuk I dan We
Untuk kalimat nominal, setelah will/shall diikuti subject + be + complement

Contoh:

  • Will you come to my house tomorrow?
  • Will he come to my house tomorrow?
  • Will they come to my house tomorrow?
  • Will you be my friend?

be going to

Untuk pertanyaan dengan jawaban ya/tidak, cukup letakkan am / are / is diikuti subject dan going to di awal kalimat.

Am / Are / Is + Subject + going to + verb 1 + complement

Subject : I, you, we, they, she, he, it
am → digunakan untuk subject I
are → digunakan untuk subject you, we, they
is → digunakan untuk subject she, he, it
Untuk kalimat nominal, setelah am/are/is diikuti subject + going to be + complement

Contoh:

  • Are you going to watch this movie?
  • Is she going to watch this movie?
  • Are you going to be a doctor?

W/H Question

Bentuk kalimat ini diawali oleh kata tanya what/where/who/when/why/how.

will / shall

Untuk pertanyaan dengan W/H question, cukup letakkan W/H question sebelum will/shall diikuti subject dan verb 1 di awal kalimat.

W/H + will / shall + Subject +      verb1 + complement

Subject : I, you, we, they, she, he, it
W/H → what/where/who/when/why/how
will → digunakan untuk I, you, we, they, she, he, it
shall → digunakan untuk I dan We
Untuk kalimat nominal, setelah will/shall diikuti subject + be + complement

Contoh?

  • What will you do this afternoon?
  • What will she do this afternoon?

be going to

Untuk pertanyaan W/H question, cukup letakkan W/H diikuti am / are / is + subject dan going to  di awal kalimat.

W/H +   am / are / is   + Subject    + going to    + complement

Subject : I, you, we, they, she, he, it
W/H → what/where/who/when/why/how
am → digunakan untuk subject I
are → digunakan untuk subject you, we, they
is → digunakan untuk subject she, he, it
Untuk kalimat nominal, setelah W/H + am/are/is +  subject + going to be + complement

Contoh:

  • What are you going to do this afternoon?
  • What is she going to do this afternoon?

Contoh Kalimat

Berikut ini adalah contoh penggunaan kalimat SImple Future Tense.

Positif

Kalimat nya tidak mengandung kata not

  • I will go to the beach.
  • We shall make a delicious cake.
  • She is going to be at home tonight.
  • He will stay at the shop till evening.
  • They are going to give him a book.

Negatif

Kalimat ini mengandung kata not

  • I won’t go to the beach.
  • We shan’t make a delicious cake.
  • she isn’t going to be at home tonight.
  • He won’t stay at the shop till evening.
  • The aren’t going to give him a book.

Interogatif

Penggunaan dalam kalimat tanya. Terdapat kalimat tanya yes/no dan W/H. Perhatikan masing-masing penggunaanya dalam kalimat.

  • Will you go to beach?
  • Shall we make a delicious cake?
  • Is she going to be at home tonight?
  • Why will you stay at the shop till evening?
  • What present are they going to give?
